Immerse Yourself in One of America’s
Most Storied Regions
If you’re seeking a relaxing, luxurious stay in one of America’s most history-dense regions, look no further than the Inn at Herrington Harbour. Our own history starts in the 1950s and continues over many decades of evolution and restoration. We encourage you to explore the rich stories of our region to uncover the people and places of the past that have shaped our present.
- MUSEUMS: Stroll through daily life as it was 150 years ago at the historic village at Herrington Harbour North. Buildings include a one-room schoolhouse, a residence, smokehouse, dairy and an African-American meeting house. For a full immersion in Chesapeake Bay culture, arts, and history, Captain Avery Museum hosts music events, painting classes, and presentations by local authors and museums. The Chesapeake Beach Railway Museum dives into the rich history of the area that once consisted of casinos, hotels, racetracks, and boardwalks. (10 – 25 minutes)
- MEMORIAL PARKS: Remember and honor all of our national heroes in a peaceful setting along the Bay at The Veterans Memorial Park. There, you can purchase memorial bricks in dedication to a loved one who served. Take time to reflect along the shaded trails of historical Lynwood T Kellam Memorial Recreational Park. (10 minutes)
- ANTIQUES: A short drive into town will bring you to a number of antiques markets and consignment shops.
